Thrift Impact Day – Sept. 3rd
Join us for the first-ever Thrift Impact Day at both locations on September 3rd! Since 2006, the community’s purchases and donations have provided shelter for 3,000 survivors fleeing violence. We are grateful to the community’s support of our Thrift Shops which directly support the WRC Mission to protect, shelter and empower all people impacted by domestic and sexual violence.

Subaru’s Operation Warm
On January 22nd, we received 204 brand-new coats from our partners at Serra Subaru of Traverse City through Operation Warm. Operation Warm ensures that coats and shoes are gifted to children who need them most and plans to donate 130,000 coats this year across the country. Thank you Serra Subaru of Traverse City and Operation Warm for this generous donation!
Educate. Unify. Empower. A community discussion with the Honorable Judge Rosemarie Aquilina
On May 23rd, the Honorable Judge Rosemarie Aquilina, a Judge of the 30th Circuit Court in Ingham County, led a presentation at Kirkbride Hall in Village of the Grand Traverse Commons. She is best known as the Judge who sentenced Larry Nassar in the USA Gymnastics sex scandal. In the landmark trial Aquilina allowed over 150 victims to present personal testimony.

On Wednesday, April 27th we discussed gender-based violence prevention through the work of Brenda Tracy’s nonprofit organization, Set The Expectation.
Set The Expectation is dedicated to ending sexual and interpersonal violence through prevention work with men, advocacy, and engagement with agencies serving survivors and their families.
